1.Lex
in a white suit, standing behind the desk of the Oval Office.
[see discussions on
white
and yellow
symbolism in the color
theory section.
also... "white apparel denotes eventful changes, and that the
wearer will nearly always find the change bearing sadness..... one
should be careful to note whether the objects are looking natural.
If the faces are distorted and the light unearthly, though the colors
are bright, beware; the miscarriage of some worthy plan will work
one harm."] |
| 2.
Lex walks to a door leading outside.
["To dream that
you are entering through a door, signifies new opportunities that
will be presented before you. You are entering into a new stage
in your life and moving from one level of consciousness to another."] |

3.
The camera zooms in on one of Lex's blue
eyes. ["To
see eyes...in your dream, represents enlightenment, knowledge, comprehension,
understanding, and intellectual awareness. Unconscious thoughts
may be coming onto the surface. The left eye is symbolic of the
moon, while the right eye represents the sun. It may also be a pun
on "I" or the self. and... "To see blue eyes, denotes weakness
in carrying out any intention."] Plus I would add that the
eyes are referred to as the windows of the soul, therefore the field
portion of Lex's dream following this eye close-up is in a sense
a visual narration of the chaos in his soul. |

4.
Lex stands in a field of sunflowers, with
hills in the background. ["To
see a sunflower in your dream symbolizes warmth, abundance, longevity,
and prosperity. The sunflower also serves to point you in the right
direction and is a source of spiritual guidance. Even through difficult
times, you will persevere. Alternatively, the sunflower may denote
haughtiness.] (definitely a lexian characteristic) |

5.
Lex bends down and smells one of the sunflowers.
He runs his hand, that wears a black glove, across the flower.
// There isn't a symbolism
entry for "one black-gloved hand", but I associate this
whole sunflower sequence with the myth of Clytie. [Legend tells
that the Greek sun-god Helios was drowned by his uncles, the Titans,
and then raised to the sky, where he became the sun. He was beloved
by a mortal named Clytie, who died of her love for him. Clytie was
"rooted" in her grief, and thus followed Helios' daily journey through
the sky. The sunflower's turning as it follows the sun symbolizes
deep loyalty and constancy....] an explanation of "rooted"...[Clytie
was a water-nymph and in love with Helios, who made her no return.
So she pined away, sitting all day long upon the cold ground, with
her unbound tresses streaming over her shoulders. Nine days she
sat and tasted neither food nor drink, her own tears and the chilly
dew her only food. She gazed on the sun when he rose, and as he
passed through his daily course to his setting; she saw no other
object, her face turned constantly on him. At last, they say, her
limbs rooted in the ground, her face became a flower which turns
on its stem so as always to face the sun throughout its daily course;
for it retains to that extent the feeling of the nymph from whom
it sprang.] Such a sad story of unrequited love. Like Clytie, Lex
pines away for someone who will never return his feelings. And this
doesn't have to be seen through slash glasses to work either. In
general Lex's need for love, whether it be from Clark or his father,
goes unfulfilled. He shares a sort of camaraderie with the flower,
he joyfully smells it and delicately caresses it, (similar to how
he always reaches out his hand for a handshake when he introduces
himself to people) but he is incapable of love. So instead he will
embrace death, and everything he touches will suffer. which brings
us to... |

6.
The flower shrivels and turns black, then
the whole field of flowers. All the flowers around Lex die. The
field of flowers turns to a field of human bones and skulls. Lex
turns around, a hint of a smile on his face. [Withered
and dead flowers, signify disappointments and gloomy situations....
Black symbolizes the unknown, unconscious, danger, mystery, darkness,
death, mourning, hate or malice.... but... If the feeling in the
dream is one of joy, blackness could imply hidden spirituality and
divine qualities.... To see bones in your dream, suggests the discovery
of your personal, family, or cultural secrets. It is also symbolic
of your underlying strengths that you have not yet recognized.....
Dreaming of ashes omens woe, and many bitter changes are sure to
come....] |

7.
The skies are stormy and have become gray
and black soon followed by red. [for
black see above, Gray indicates depression, ill health, ambivalence....
One may feel emotionally distant or detached. and... Red is an indication
of raw energy, force, vigor, intense passion, aggression, power,
courage and passion. The color red has deep emotional and spiritual
connotations. and... To dream of seeing dark heavy clouds, portends
misfortune and bad management.] |
| |
8.
Lex looks up at the sky and holds up his
hands. Blood starts raining down on him. The blood continues to
pour down, covering Lex. The End. [Lex's
pose could be seen as self-sacrificial, or as giving himself completely
over to the evil part of his nature. and... If rain is falling,
it denotes troubles and sickness. and... Red is also the color of
danger, shame, sexual impulses and urges. (I'm not going there)] |
